Beach profiling pt. 2 Sophie G.

Procedure:

       Materials:
  • 2 poles
  • hammer
  • emory rods

        Methods:
  1. Find where the wrack line on the beach is. (where the line of seaweed is)
  2. Hammer in one of the poles on the wrack line.
  3. Line up the other pole with the one hammered in on the wrack line. Hammer it in where the waves break.
  4. Take the emory rods and line them up at a right angle to the horizon. The farthest one from the horizon should be right in front of the pole on the wrack line. Make sure that the rope between the two emory rods is taught.
  5. Line up the top of the emory rod that is closest to the horizon with the horizon then see where that line lands on the numbers on emory rod that is farthest away from the horizon.
  6. Keep doing this until you reach the other pole.
