Beach Profiling pt. 2 Louisa L.

On Monday, April 6 we headed for the U Mass Field Station at about 12:30. It seemed to be warm, sunny and there was a low wind, after we arrived we went to go see the bud bursting, we took the longitude and latitude of an apple tree. The longitude turned out to be West 70 ˚ at 2.433 s. The  latitude  was North 41 ˚ at  7.722 s., We did the bud bursting to track the climate change.

After that we went to go do some beach profiling, we walked down to the beach. Then we hammered a metal pole into the ground. ( this will always be our starting point) We used our emory rods which lined up with another metal rod Matt put into the water, we lined up the rods with the horizon and started to begin the process of beach profiling. We did this until we got all the way to the waters edge. Near the edge of the water was a huge piece of sea lettuce and a sketchy looking worm. All of our data were negative numbers except one that was 0.10 that got messed up because of a pile of debris. When we were walking back to the car we saw a group of college students that were collecting algae and  a really cool osprey.
