I.  Procedure

    A. Materials:

• Emory Rod

    B. Methods:

1. To start your task of profiling the beach's depth you need to line up the emory rods at a right angle to the horizon. Make sure that the line between the emory rods is taught.
2. If the emory rod that is closest to the horizon is going downhill, line the horizon up with the top of that emory rod if you are standing next to the emory rod that is farthest from the horizon.
3. See where the top of that emory rod meets up on the numbers on the emory rod that is farthest from the horizon. DO NOT move the emory rods to line it up. Do it by eye.
