Profiling a beach

1. Materials

• emery sticks
• data sheet
• pencil
• paper

    B. Methods  

1. First you will go to the beach.
2. Write down the beach name and the date on the data form.
3. Take the emery sticks and line them up in a straight line.(with at least three people helping)  
4. Bend down, close one eye and look at the second emery stick.
5. Then look back at the first emery stick  and take the height of the second one.
6. After you have collected that data you will take the first emery stick that is farthest away from the ocean and move it to where the second emery stick was.
7. Then you will repeat steps 3-5 till you get to the oceans edge.
