Beach Profiling pt. 2 Isobel C.

On Monday we went out to the Field Station for a field trip with Lenny.
We did beach profiling. Beach profiling is where we measure from the high water mark (which is the highest spot the water went up to) to the water. With beach profiling we can see where some of the beach eroded.
When we were doing beach profiling the water was at high tide because Matt put a rusty metal rod at where the water was and by the time we were done the water had rose in front of the rusty metal rod. We on;y had one positive number (0.1) and that was because we measured over a debris pile of seaweed and other stuff.
When we were going to leave we saw college students who were going to look for plankton and later going to do beach profiling as well. We also saw a Herring with a fish in its talons.
Monday was a really cool field trip and a fun learning experience.
